| DUI checkpoints are announced publicly in advance. IIRC in Oklahoma they were announced on the radio the week prior, and I mean the location and rough time-frame was announced....other states may announce them in newspapers or via other measures. So it really isn't the same thing. Not everyone may have heard the announcement, but it was put out there whether you heard it or not. The only time I am aware of DUI checkpoint being 100% unannounced is for example when police become aware of a lot of drunk people leaving a large gathering that has already produced a few DUI departees, you know, like a Michael Bolton concert. The same thing would be your virtual strip-searching by the TSA at the airport just to get onto a non-government owned aircraft.
